We have created the first online subscription based toolkit in NZ for managing workplace injuries when they happen. The online ManageCLAIMS toolkit gives you tips, templates, guidance, support that you need to manage the claim, manage the employee, manage ACC and ultimately manage your risk.
Why manage injuries?
Managing injuries not only minimises down time and preventing the need for replacement staff, your business also avoids getting penalised for every day an employee has off on ACC compensation. Simply put, you pay penalties on your CC levies and these can be as high as 75%.
The ManageCLAIMS toolkit gives you the tools, forms and tips on how you can by-pass the Doctor and speed up the ACC process by over 40%. Imagine avoiding the medical certificate altogether... or at worst having one that doesn't state “fully unfit for work”. Our toolkit gives you a very useful way of managing this process.
We focus on 5 key areas namely:
Sometimes you may not agree with an ACC decision or you feel that you have been treated incorrectly. 21% of our business now comes from advocacy work where we fight your fight. We know the rules and we know the legislation. Talk to us about your problem as we want to know. Our promise to you is we will be straight up with you and tell you what can / cannot be done.
On 24th July 2015 we had a meeting with Martin Wouters from Manage Company regarding our claims and experiencing ratings with ACC. We were very happy with the outcome of this meeting and felt that Martin helped us understand the risks, experiential rating process and the procedures to go through when we were dealing with difficult ACC claims or long term ACC injuries.
Because of this meeting we were able to save a tidy sum of money due to our ACC levy codes being incorrect. We were also told of another way of saving money by paying off our ACC Levies within a certain timeframe that didn’t incur interest but still made it manageable for us to achieve the monthly payment.
We had a staff member on ACC for a long period and after our discussions with Martin we felt confident to have their Case Manager and OT in for several meetings to see when our staff member was going to be back at work as it seems that he was well on the way to recovery but no view for returning to work was happening – whether this be light duties or full time we wanted a result. After several meetings we were able to bring this person back to work on light duties and it was a successful outcome for all.
I have gone online and read through the Claims toolkit “Managing Workplace Injuries when they Happen” and found this very informative. We have used the info in this toolkit on various scenarios which has helped get a result.
I would totally recommend Martin and his Team to any Employer who would like a better understanding of the ACC claims, Levies and Experiential Rating process.
